The disabled architect is a personal blog, all content provided on this blog is for informational purposes only. Opinions expressed here are my own and may not reflect those of others unless I'm quoting someone.
Though I call myself an architect, I'm not a licensed architect. I'm simply a student in architecture…. and also engineering, with years of experience of being autistic and chronically ill.
Remember, autism and any other disability is a spectrum. To know disability are to know 1.2 billion persons. This webpage is not intended to be a substitute for any consultation you need and I can not be held accountable for any damages that may occur from use of it. If you need professional help I urge you to find someone professional within architecture, engineering, economical, medical, psychotherapy, psychotherapy or whatever you need professional help in. Secondly, I'm not your architect. It's impossible for me to know all the laws and recommendations that exist in your country/state.
But, if you need any unprofessional advice from an architect with years of experience from autism, I can help you.
Tystnadsplikt (professional secrecy… I think it's called in English)
I never share personal information about my clients to anyone. With personal information I mean information that reveals gender, age, medical history, interests, where you live, what's your favorite sandwich etc. Basically nothing unless you agree to it.
For my Swedish readers
For several years I've also worked part-time as a personal care assistant (personlig assistent) both private and at a Korttidsboende for children. When working with that you sign a tystnadsplikt where you're not to reveal any personal information of your brukare. As I live in a teeny-tiny city, I have my own policy of not mentioning anything at all from that.
Everything I write here on this blog should not either be seen as recommendation or advice from someone that works in healthcare. Any advice or recommendations I write are from my experiences from friends and family.
Accessibility
Though I call myself The disabled architect, I still haven't made my webpage completely accessible. The cost of that would be about 2000 kr a month and that's something I don't have as a poor student.
Dark Mode
This webpage has a dark-mode if you're in need of that.
